2014 Favourites Part 2 Makeup

Finally got round to doing makeup favourites. This was tough, I'm a hoarder and collector of makeup so it was really hard to whittle it down. There are a few I tried for the first time in 2014 and fell in love with and one or two that have been favourites for years. Here we go:

I've got 15 foundations! That's not including BB/CC/tinted moisturisers - a new years resolution is to stop buying foundation which I'm going to stick of next month. Anyway out of all the foundations I own, from high and low end, the one that I can honestly say I reached for the most is the L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation, it's just so lightweight and comfortable on the skin. I know not everyone likes this little foundation and having no pump is a bit crap but I think it's great

For concealer I fell in love with the Clarins Instant Concealer but I only got this late in 2014 so I have to give a special mention to: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Bourjois Happy Light Concealer and Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer. All incredible and budget friendly concealers in varying coverages.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipsticks are excellent - I have almost every shade and fully intend on getting the other two that I don't. The colours are excellent, they're non drying and last forever on the lips - nuff said!

I've always preferred cream to powder blush and love the Rimmel London Stay Blushed! Sunkissed Cherry and Pop of Pink. I tried these after I saw Lisa Eldridge use the Sunkissed Cherry shade on Alexa Chung. The shades are so flattering, work with and without a tan, last ages on the skin and you get a hell of a lot of product for the price!

A brow duo that is just perfect: Soap & Glory ARCHERY 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil in Hot Chocolate and L'Oreal Paris Perfection Brow Artist Plumper. An excellent combo, I was worried that the Soap & Glory pencil bit be a bit reddy but it's the perfect ashy tone.

Another combination that I have been loving: Urban Decay Subversion Primer and the Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara . The primer is fantastic and has made my stumpy lashes appear long and full. When I first tried the Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara I really didn't like it and still don't really rate it as a great mascara but with the primer some sort of alchemy occurs and they just look beautiful together.

Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow in Bronze - I've devoted an entire blog post to this wonderful little pot, it's excellent! I also got Clinique All About Shadows Black Honey last year and can see what all the fuss is about. Lovely shade that really suits all eye colours.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner , I've used these for years and trust them to do the job and stay put. They really do and I can't ever see myself using anything else.

Bourjois Poudre De Riz De Java is an illuminating, light, finishing powder that adds a glow without a sparkly. I've heard it compared to the Hourglass Ambient Light Powder which is £40 (WTF?!) so yeah, I'm going to stick with this little pot of magic.

Eyeko Lash Curler I got these free from a Magazine (InStyle I think). I feel they're better than the much hyped Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers which I also have and almost half the price.

Tweezerman Wide Grip Tweezer and old favourite and still the best.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Honey Lip Balm, another old favourite and simply the best lip balm out there - I would never spend crazy money on other lip balms when this one is just so good!

MAC 217 Blending Brush a classic for a reason, I couldn't do without oxygen.

Louise Young Super Foundation Brush LY34 my favourite foundation brush of the lot, super quick and doesn't swallow all your foundation.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge really does work and leaves skin looking flawless. Bit more effort required with a sponge but worth it.

The Wet Brush  - the only thing that will get through my frizzy, tangled hair without ripping it out and my boyfriend likes it as well...

It was a toss up between Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne and Wood Sage & Sea Salt, I love Peony & Blush Suede more, it's just so pretty without being too girly and sweet.

What a mega list! Looking forward to seeing with 2015 brings, hopefully next year I can do this as a video...
