It's the end of summer, how has it gone by so quickly?! Although I know I am not the only one looking forward to autumn it's like we all have a collective memory fail about the realities of dark cold mornings, icy train platforms, short days, the freezing, biting wind and driving rain! Anyway in my head autumn is going to be about crisp walks in the country, mulled cider, warming dinners, cashmere blankets, dark nail polish and snuggly scarfs - I will leave the winter worries for January...
Like most beauty junkies I have a very definite shift in the products I use come the change of season. The bright pinks of summer start to feel a little frivolous and I'm longing for the deep reds and berries of autumn. I am trying not to wish the last days of summer away because I know how fed up I get with winter come February but these are a few bits that I'm looking forward to come the drop in temperature.
Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum - I'm going to be swapping my current lighter serum for this come autumn. It's just an excellent product for dehydrated skin and perfect for the coming months. I think a lot of people get a few skin issues with the changing seasons but my 'transitional' skin is dry, flaky, sore, spotty and red - all kinda hell breaks loose and this seems to be the only thing that puts it right. I got mine in France this summer but you can get it from lookfantastic here.
Makeup wise I'm looking forward to deep reds and matte plummy lips as well as bronze and rusty eyeshadows. I've just got Black Honey by Clinique and it is beautiful! Totally in love...
Will you look at that!
Essie Sole Mate is the perfect autumn nail colour but there are 100's out there similar - Revlon Vixen comes to mind.
I know everyone and their cat has this perfume but I just love it and it works so well as an autumn/winter scent. I have Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne on my wish list as well...maybe next payday!
