Hot Weather Heroes

It's been hot out there! The last few days in the UK have been the hottest that I can remember. We've also had a few pretty spectacular thunder and lightening storms - exciting!
It is not easy to keep cool in weather like this and trying to keep makeup in place in this muggy, humid weather can be a serious struggle. I have been using three products for my face and one for body that have gotten me through the last few days.

I always moisturise after coming out of the shower but it's been so hot that all my usual body creams just feel sticky and greasy so I tried Vaseline Spray and Go Body Moisturiser in Aloe Fresh. I was actually really surprised how much I love it. It goes on quickly, is really light, non sticky, sinks in well and smells fresh. My only issue with this product is that it doesn't last very long which is annoying but worth it in hot weather - I wouldn't use this in autumn/winter, it's just not rich enough.
For my face I start with Serozinc by La Roche-Posay which most people will have heard of. It is a constant part of my skincare routine but I have been even more grateful for it than usual in the last few days. The fine mist is cooling and soothing and is a great base for serum.
I follow with the Avène Hydrance Optimale Moisturising Serum which I picked up in France on holiday - I wouldn't go so far as to rave about this serum but it is super light and sinks in quickly so has been perfect in the heat, I'm not sure this is a product I would regularly repurchase but for holidays in the sun and the occasional heatwave I think it's pretty useful. Finally a product that I will rave about is Lush Enzymion moisturiser - I will be repurchasing this one. I have loved using this face cream over the summer months. It is supposed to be for oily skin which I don't really have but it has been working a treat. It has been a lifesaver these last few hot hot days and works really well under makeup. It leaves skin soft but matte and has really helped to keep foundation in place. The only problem is it come in a pot with a screw lid - I would love it even more in a pump but that is my only complaint.
These products have been my hot weather heroes - never thought I would say this but I'm ready for some slightly cooler weather!
