Bioderma in Brighton

This is pretty niche and will only matter to you if 1) you live in Brighton and 2) cannot live without Bioderma. It's a pretty essential part of my cleansing routine and is the only thing that I will use to remove makeup - there has already been so much about this product on the internet there's no need for me go over it. Either way I've always ordered mine online or stocked up while in France. I've been searching for a local pharmacy in Brighton/Hove for ages and finally found one that stocks not only Bioderma but a whole host of other French pharmacy products which I am seriously chuffed about. The Glaisyer & Kemp Pharmacy in Hove (24 Church Road Hove East Sussex BN3 2FN) have a good selection and even sell the tiny 100ml bottles.

If anyone knows any other pharmacies in Brighton that sells Bioderma please please do share!

A Sephora Haul

I've mentioned how much I dislike the term 'haul' but unfortunately it seems to be a case of if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and besides I can't really think of a better way to describe "purchases I've made from a shop" here's my Sephora Haul.

I was in Verona, Italy a few weeks ago and there was a pretty good little Sephora that I might have visited...oh about 6 times in the 5 days I was there...

A few weeks ago I visited Verona with my best friend. Verona was never on my list but as my parents were going to be staying there we thought we might as well take the opportunity to visit. With Venice and Lake Garda very close we thought we could see a few places while we were there. As it happens Verona is a stunner!

It's the end of summer, how has it gone by so quickly?! Although I know I am not the only one looking forward to autumn it's like we all have a collective memory fail about the realities of dark cold mornings, icy train platforms, short days, the freezing, biting wind and driving rain! Anyway in my head autumn is going to be about crisp walks in the country, mulled cider, warming dinners, cashmere blankets, dark nail polish and snuggly scarfs - I will leave the winter worries for January...

Lush Face Masks

Lush masks have been my go to face saviours for years now and I think I've tried most of them, although I do like a lot of the formulas I think I've found the 'ones' that I'm going to mostly stick with.

Zoeva 230 Luxe Pencil Brush

I love this brush - I've been on the hunt for a short, stubby, densely packed brush for ages. There is this incredible brush by Suqqu that Lisa Eldridge uses in her videos (if you don't know who Lisa Eldridge is you need to go and check her website out immediately, stop what you are doing and go, now: here)

I Spent TOO Much Money in Boots (otherwise known as a Boots Haul)

I am not a big fan of the term 'haul' as in Boots haul or a Primark haul - it just sounds a bit look at all the cool s**t I bought and you can't afford/should own as well/I have and you don't/etc...

A Dupe for Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner?

I have been using liquid liner for most of my adult life and over the years I have gotten pretty good at it. Having never used a gel liner when I spotted Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Pen on one of my regular trips to Boots I popped it in the basket.

Castor Oil for Longer Eyelashes and Bushier Brows?

About six months ago I had a very unfortunate incident with a brow threader, I don't think these encounters are uncommon but it was my first time and let's just say I won't be doing that again - once bitten twice shy!

Hot Weather Heroes

It's been hot out there! The last few days in the UK have been the hottest that I can remember. We've also had a few pretty spectacular thunder and lightening storms - exciting!
It is not easy to keep cool in weather like this and trying to keep makeup in place in this muggy, humid weather can be a serious struggle. I have been using three products for my face and one for body that have gotten me through the last few days.

Holiday Countdown! One week to go...

How to get holiday ready in 7 days...

Saltfish and Plantain

The national dish of St.Lucia is saltfish and green figs (a type of banana eaten while still green and unripe). We couldn't get hold of any green figs so went with unripened plantain instead. Plantain is really tasty and can be boiled, baked or fried.

Sunny Brighton Walk & Dinner Shopping

The weather has been stunning (fingers crossed this isn't going to be our lot for summer!) and Brighton is at its very best when the sun comes out to play. We went for a stroll through the park and along the beach.

The Talbot Inn, Mells

While staying with my parents in Bath last weekend we visited the Talbot Inn at Mells, about 40 minutes drive away. We went for a Sunday roast and it was pretty tasty.

New Blog

A new blog to document the things I enjoy - it's not deep, it's not serious just a little bit frivolous. Pictures, clothes, food, make up and adventures. Because I want this to be fun.
